Welcome to Get Playing!

Since running our first Lego® club in January 2024 our aim has been to run fun and interactive after-school clubs and holiday camps that focus on providing children with a social alternative to screen time.

We are expanding our clubs into Leeds and are looking to increase our offering to include Board Games and Dungeons & Dragons®

Our Ethos

Hey! We are Joe and Joel, two friends who are keen to provide an extracurricular space for children that aims to develop critical thinking and soft social skills. Our clubs run with a skilled adult facilitator ready to explore the project they would like to work on. They will also come prepared with suggested activities that will encourage the group to work together.

We are forever wanting to find new ways to help children connect socially and develop skills that they can use in everyday life.

This could involve building a Lego® hotel where each participant makes their own floor which can then be joined to the others. There are challenges here that the children have to work through, such as making sure the stairs and doors all line up to each other! This ability to make sure everything aligns correctly can be further developed in other ways such as building a section of maze which can then be put together to form a large puzzle.

What do we currently offer?

At the moment we are running a Lego® Club every Wednesday at Pudsey House.

We are hoping to launch a weekly club at Clifton Moor,

Wetherby, Horsforth and Silsden in the coming months.

If your child would be interested in a club and you live in an LS or YO postcode please fill out a form using our contact section and we would love to open up near you!

We Buy Games

We are constantly looking for new things for our club. We are on the lookout to buy more Lego® and we're also interested in anything that might help our club. That might be some board games, D&D books or trading cards.

We pay £7 a kilo for loose mixed Lego® (we will gladly pay more for complete sets). We aim to pay about 70% of games second hand value (so not its RRP). If you're looking to sell collectable or mint/near mint condition games we are very happy to buy them but we will have to value them as playable toys.
